Does anyone have any idea where to get a very basic, light weight, non-leather sheath for fit my HR well. It doesn't have to perfect, just protective enough so it won't get damaged while in the backcountry. I've seen blackhawk, specops, and even one by SOG, but they're all a bit overdone. Maybe someone has a link to good site on building a simple canvas/nylon sheath. I'm headed out for a long trip and I don't want to lug the factory leather sheath out there--it's beautiful but not practical for my needs. Thanks!

The only thing I can think of for your request is Semper Paratus Tactical. He uses Okuden kydex inserts. For "a long trip" I'd recommend Okuden kydex if the canvas-over-kydex turns out to be a bit much for you.

Stay vigilant, stay safe, and come back.

Not sure this is cricket, but the new HRLM fits the sheath for the BM 151 (Fixed griptillian) perfectly (I have both knives and have been trying to find the same thing you are looking for when I noticed this). It is a mole rated sheath, but fairly small and neat. Not a particularly impressive sheath, but it works until something better comes along. The larger sheath for the BM 141 also fits, but it is closer to a normal mil-spec sheath.

Here's a Kydex one Leatherface made. He's been working on finishing a bunch.

I don't think he'll mind me saying that he's planning on putting some of these up for sale in the next few days. He has some done already and could probably get er right to you. Kydex is the perfect backcountry rig, IMHO. Way better than even nylon for a bunch of reasons. He's a great and easygoing guy to deal with. And, unlike anyone else doing kydex, he's ready to go on the custom HRLM's. Here's his website.

+1 on leatherface he is a nice guy and does lots of rats so will have one for your
HR exactly. Eric from one shot tactical is another good choice especially for
us canuks. They both are regulars here and are both recomended on the Busse site. Leatherface does both leather and kydex and Eric is strictly Kydex(concealex actually).
