What do y'all think bout the Colt Python. Is it just another S&W type knife or is it the real deal?

Me: That’s not a knife. That’s a knife.
Them: No, That’s a fork.

I guess since no one's answered you, you know the answer.

I believe it is a Ken onion design. I have not been overly impressed with the quality of the ones I have seen. The reference to S&W seems appropriate.

Well, unless you like J2 steel, it's crap. Just another product with a seemingly good name stamped on it.

I have one. It is a $30 knife, definately not a Micro=tech or a Benchmade... But then again it is a decent $30 knife. The ergos are good, it was sharp out of the box (I steeled and stropped in on cardboard and it is now shaving sharp) there is no wobble, and as far as the lock goes..."every gun is loaded & every folding blade is a slip joint" No I haven't asked for trouble and beat it on a table. This has been my everyday beater for a year. If I loose, break or dump it I won't be heartbroken.
The whole idea is to get the best value for the amount of money you can spend.
If you just can't wait (& save) to get something better, you could do worse.

Can it core a apple?

Ken designed a good knife, but the company manufactured an inferior product. Do the two offset each other to make a reasonable knife for the money? Maybe, but you'll have to decide if you need a good steel that will hold an edge and sharpen easily or a good feeling knife that might get used rarely.

Take care,

Mike
