I am looking for pictures of the Fiddleback EDC in hand and shots from the side and top. I would also like to hear from people who have one and what they think about it. Thanks.

I haven't seen one of those pop up in a fiddleback friday in.....ever?

Not for nothin but his EDKarda, Bushcraft Karda, bushboot, and hiking buddy are all AMAZING edc knives. I think the prevalence of those models in his forging schedule shows their popularity for that market.

Lee's cutlery has an EDC though...some side shot pictures. You might be able to email them with some additional picture requests if you're really interested in it:

I recently traded into an EDKarda. It's way different then the EDC, so I can't offer a comparison. Hope you find what you are looking for.

I have a couple of EDC's and can get you some pics later. Do you own any FF knives currently that you might like some sided by side pics with the EDC for comparison? I don't own anywhere near every model but do own several different ones so I might be able to do side by sides with a model you currently own.

As to what I think about it, I almost always carry a Runt as my edc due to it small size but if I go for something larger than the Runt it is almost always the EDC and I do own a couple other FF models that are comparable in size to the EDC. I use my 1/8" EDC a fair amount in the kitchen as well though probably not as often as some of the others, overall I just think it is a great feeling knife with a unique style about it but then I guess you could say that about all of Andys knives.

I will get some pics up later tonight.

I do not currently own any Fiddlebacks. I will be buying one soon I hope but am having a hard time deciding between a EDC and Bushboot. I want something about 7 inches and do not want a Hiking Buddy. Would love to see the two of them side by side and in hand.

Had not seen those , thank you.

Hmm seems the handle shape would make it hard to fit in a dangler pouch type sheath.

Here are some EDC pics for you along with a HB, the white EDC is 1/8" and the bocote one is 5/32. Pics aren't very good but hopefully they will help.

On the sheath I would check with Heber Ellsworth or Rick Lowe as they do a lot of sheath work for FF knives and I know for sure that Rick has a pattern for the EDC.

The EDC was designed to be a simple tool. It was one of my first designs, and has gone unchanged since then. Every time I make it I wonder if I should update it, but the fact is the fact on this knife. It is a simple unassuming cutting tool. No need to improve. I think it underwhelms in the sex appeal category, and thus, you don't see it on FF too much. I have one that we use here at the shipping bench. It just works.

In my mind when I drew it it was supposed to be a not threatening knife you could carry everywhere with you. But I still get looks from the sheeple when I wear a fixed blade. Whats funny is that I don't get looks for my pistol. Its the knife they freak out about.

Most people have cut them self with knives and knows it hurts, not many have been shot;) Might explain a bit of it :D

The EDC was the first Fiddleback I fell in love with so many years ago. Propped on a cork so the curves were fully visible, the handle just looked so comfortable and versatile. The leaf-shaped blade has an organic look to it and the whole design is so friendly. Like it was melted on all sides, the EDC lends itself to hours of use and is a natural-born whittler. I apologize for the poor lighting/background, the back-story is too pitiful to share.

Check the grind...

Gotta love round butts!

The end of the handle fits easily against your palm without causing any discomfort (sorry for the blurry pic).

It's very easy to move your hand around on the knife.

The tapered tang looks great and balances the knife physically and visually. Beautiful work, Mr. Roy and crew.

I'll try for some at work pics later. As for opinion, I think it's a great small fixed blade: it's the size of a folder but far more useful, it's a Fiddleback, and it fits my needs for daily use.

I know I would like an 1/8" EDC. Preferably blue curly maple or the oak of recent FF's. Maybe the EDC will make a comeback. Any EDC's for the Blade Show table or even better the after Blade Show sale?

+1 I too would like to own a 1/8" EDC. I hope that Andy will throw a few in the mix now and again.

We can only hope and wait, but I'm sure if one more person would speak to interest it would make it worth while for Andy to pull the trigger on making them.....I think.

Maybe Andy will reply once he is back from Blade. He has a nice EDKarda for sale tonight. If I wasn't holding out for an EDC I would grab the EDKarda.
