Need pictures and opinion of Fiddleback EDC

There's a couple out there on the resellers right now. Arizonacustomknives has one. usamadeblades has one also.

Thanks for the heads up! I think those are a little too plain for my taste. I dig the dyed maples, stabilized palms, some burlaps, bolsters and such. I like some variety. We'll see...

I apologize for the plain taste of our product. We will speak with the maker about this ASAP:D!

Well, "Whitty", not sure if you are implying that am passing criticism on the knives you have, but if so you can misconstrue my choice of words in a negative connotation. However, that was not my original intent. Everyone likes what they like and I do not like those particular configurations. I have several Fiddleback knives that I bought directly "from the maker" as I like the materials I mentioned previously.

If you do decide to contact Andy, be sure to mention some of the materials I listed. Oh, and he is planning on using CPM 154 in the near future. An EDC in that stock would be killer for a coastal southerner such as myself. Bolsters are nice too and I haven't seen an EDC in bolsters. Just a thought...

P.S. - there are some really nice Fiddlebacks in your inventory. The ebony Bushfinger and the bolstered hiking buddy to name a couple. The EDC is just not "my taste."

Of topic but I'd agree, the hiking buddies whitty has in black palm and burlap are sweet. One is already gone. If the other stays long enough it will be mine. And that burlap camp knife!!!

Good luck in your quest for an EDC. I don't have that model, but the two EDC'able that I do have (Edkarda and runt) are right on. You won't regret one of Andy's blades.

Ok so does anyone have some photos of the EDC an EDCII in hand next to each other an can tell me the pros an cons to one or the other please? Thanks Chuck

I hope this helps Chuck. Since I only have two hands, and one had to take the picture, I could not get a picture in the hand side by side. The EDC shape is more bulbous at the heel than the EDCII, but they feel very similar in hand. As willic points out, the EDCII has a guard. The blade shapes are essentially identical leaf shapes, sans the guard. The EDCII is 5/32" and the EDC is 1/8" which explains the difference in grind.

Nice comparison pics. I think I'd like the pointier, guardless EDC blade on the EDCII handle. But I'd also be happy with either one the way they are now.
