Hi!
Just found site and registered and think this
is a great site!
I have a question about a Pine Knot knife
that I have. I was unable to find any information on this knife but listed it at auction today. I then received a email from someone who told me that Pine Knot knives were originally made by John Primble and that Pine Knot went out of business in 1932.
He said someone's always reproducing them as every other major knife brand, but the tang
mark is different on the new ones and that mine is an older congress pattern.
The knife I have is a 4 blade and is about
3 1/2" closed. It has black handles (bone?) with some sort of sheild on it. The tang
marking says Pine Knot in a sort of half circle and under that has what I would describe as a woodpecker pecking on a tree.
I don't know if my desciption is good enough, but I was wondering if anyone knew anymore about these knives and what this one may be worth. It's not in the best condition. All the blades seem pretty full, but have nicks in them and the tip on one is broken off.
Sorry to be so long winded and thanks in advance for any info. any one has.
