Hi All,

i want to give a friend a knife for his birthday,
he loves fighting knife style knives. but i am on a budget, below $60. any suggestion for high value fighting knife in that price range? aside from Kabars, he got a lot of those

Thx bros

Maybe a Cold Steel Kobun Tanto? It's around $35 and is killer looking.

Check out the Ontario Spec Plus line. Some have a Ka-Bar vibe, but there's a bit more variety from model to model. Also worth checking out are the Buck/TOPS Nighthawk or CRKT Ultima. I have these knives, having gone through a "fighting knife" phase myself, and would recommend any of them.

That's nice of you to hook up your friend. It seems you want a fixed blade and not a folder. If you want to differ from the 1095 steel knives (kabar, Ontario, etc..), take a look at a SOG seal pup. You may even be able to find a Seal pup elite for under $60 if you look hard enough.

I'd look at Cold Steel and CRKT's. They tend to market toward that stuff....

If you want a value knife to hurt people with, get some grocery store steak knives. Cheap. Effective. Disposable.

I'd take a look at Cold Steel's trench knife. They have a double edged with seconds on sale for 39?

You have to search for their other knife site. Ltspecpro

Google it.

The F Dick Sticking Knife you carry (Under $60, so perfect for the op)....now there's a fighting knife. That thing is oozing "grievous harm."

Oh, isn't it though? Industrial knives are boiled down until there's nothing left in them but pure utility, and a sticking knife is literally made for snuffing out critters. I guess a lot of pigs get done (after stunning) with those blades. A punch through the side of the neck and then a cut forward out the throat and it's lights out for good.

There is such a beast? :o

Made in the same factory that makes Rough Rider. I plan on getting one just for giggles because I've always found the style interesting since it works like a short fixed blade when closed, but a big one when open.

It's a fun one. Great ergos, and I like the faux rayskin texture they used on the grip. The handle tapers from a oval cross section near the guard to a rounded rectangle near the butt end, so indexing is very positive.

How true! I hear of more knife attacks with kitchen knives then any other knife. Seems to be the choice weapon of family violence
