Need recommendations for a bushcraft knife.

My choice would be one of Brian Andrews knives. Depending on the model it may be a bit above your price point but not by much.

Buy a Mora, and use it, if it cant do what you want....then spend the extra cash.:D

Blind Horse Boat tail scandi, or a BCNW O1, or a Brian Andrews Terrasaur or bushcrafter. Fidleback makes a very nice terrasaur too.

Lots of makers make Mora's. Dan Koster hasn't been mentioned in this thread that I read. His are good.

i agree fiddle, dan koster makes one of my very favorite bushcraft blades. i just didn't mention it because of the wait but they are top notch to say the least, i was under the impression lol that he wanted it now. but either way here is a couple pics of the koster, amazing knifes for sure (well this has a couple other scandi's in it also. but the koster is the one on the right on the great leather sheath)

So to recap, our W&SS scandi makers..

Brian Andrews,
Fiddleback,
JK-Knives
Adventure Sworn
DP-knives

Then there is scandivex grind:
Koyote

Thank you everybody for your input thus far. Another requirement I want to add is that I want a more contoured and thicker handle. I don't care much for the thinner handles. Something like the Spyderco Bushcraft knife would fit the bill nicely, but they have had a lot of problems w/ the handle material splitting.

I'm in the middle of an F1 blade blank handle project myself. It's a cool way to get a great blade and a customized handle all in one.

Well I said production because I figured a custom blade with those specifics would put me well over that price.... Also because I am impatient and don't like to wait to get new toys, tho....
Chill. Pretend you are not aMurkin.:cool:;):p

I would recommend the Brian Andrew's Bushcrafter

I don't have either, but those Fiddlebacks' look nice as does the Bark River Liten Bror

Grunt,

I am SO VERY glad you are getting use out of that package. A nice knife indeed.

I agree on the Koyote suggestion - if you don't mind the scadi-vex (which I certainly don't) the latest blade I got from him was TOPS in terms of fit and finish.

The blind horse knives bushcrafter sounds exactly like what you want and they will scandi grind it at no additional cost 4 inch blade green micarta scales though they offer natural and black color and it's a great design at a price of $125

You can't go wrong with a fiddleback or a jk, And if you want john at jk will make your design if you choose to go that route. That way you definitely get exactly what you want.

Yeah I just posted because I ordered a BHK bushcrafter yesterday and I am so happy I'm farting rainbows and freaking out like a 8 year old on Christmas morning and they're birthday combined

I was bugging out so bad when I called the last thing I said to L.t. Was "your very nice!" I must have sounded like a idiot
