I need some recommendations on a good neck knife. The steel needs to be corrosive resistance since it will be used outdoors for landscaping. I will be doing things like cutting burlap, cutting plants out of their pot holders which is made out of plastic and a lot of other outdoor stuff. I don't want to go higher than $150.00. I prefer it not be longer than 7 inches.

How about a custom piece from a maker here:

If not that then I would look for a Becker BK14/24. I have the 24 and the D2 steel held up well for my usage as a landscaper. Cutting fert bags, sod, weeding/planting, plastic plant pots, you name it...
though I would suggest a DMT diafold in Fine/Extra fine for field touch ups when needed.
Edit: you don't have to worry about the d2 rusting, pitting or forming much of a patina. I have had mine for over a year and I have done Nothing to it regarding preventative maintenance, only sharpening it when needed.

The BK14 has 1095crovan steel and while easier to touch up and maintain, it will lose its edge faster in your working conditions due to the silicates in the soil.

If you want something made For You, check out JK Knives. John can make you Exactly what you are looking for in a few different steels.
If you can't find anything that resonates with you, get in touch with John, he will help you out.

Schrade's one fixed blade model has done well for a member here. I'm sure others will remember the ones I've forgotten.

ESEE Izula in 440c

While some folk will have other "favorites" they say are "better"

No one will argue the Izula is a great little neck knife
No one will argue that 440c isn't a good basic stainless steel

Problem solved...

Becker BK-24. Be sure to buy the handle scales.

I think that the Spyderco ARK is a winner and nicely priced around $60 or so.

I rely on a Mora no 1 or 2/0 for a lightweight neck knife. I have found them to be corrosion resistant enough. In fact only animal blood has causes any staining in several years, and was minor enough not to have marred the blade.

I recommend Cold Steel——BRAVE HEART. I have being carrying one for one year. I use it for whatever the occasion requires.

Check out the Spyderco Swick. I use mine all the time and its a great design. It was a limited run but I believe there are still a few available.

If you can contact Jason Wilder here he's great to work with, and with your price limit you'd get a great blade.
