need rifile scope

When I saw the CDT link I thought "uh oh" but you're on the right track.

I have that exact scope. It is a great scope and in my opinion the Prostaffs are probably one of the better scopes in their price range. Coincidently mine sets on top of my Remington 700 in .270. :D I think you'll really like it. You can find them a little cheaper than that if you shop around though.

depends on your price range and the range you think you'll be shooting at. Millett's Gen 2 TRS-1 is pretty awesome, as is the Falcon Menace FFP. I don't know how cheap you can find a Bushnell Elite 3200 nowadays but that's a damn good scope for the money as well.

I've been looking around at rimfirecentral.com for scopes (for a 10/22), and this one gets a lot of love over there in your price range.

Meuller's stuff is capable, although they try to pack alot of cheap scope into well... a cheap scope. They can hold their zero though, I used a 5-6 year old model for about a year on my Savage 10FP.

I made the rounds through alot of different brands of scopes. About 5 years ago I bought a Leupold. I have never spent another nickle on another brand.

I have a Ziess Conquest 3-9x40 on my 06' 700. Didn't want to spend any more than I did, but I wanted good glass. I have been very satisfied.

I have a Leupold (same specs) on my muzzleloader and it is very nice too. Depends on what you want to spend but don't go too cheap on a scope.

Do yourself a favor and check out the new Redfields made by Leupold. 3x9 would be great for the .270.

I did the very same thing.

I spent enough on cheap scopes to buy a Luepold

Then I got one, then several more...

Nice crisp, clear, lots of light

Burris Leupold or Nikon - I have all 3 and all are great scopes. Best of luck - buying a scope is a hard decision as I have been there too.

I have a Remington 700 chambered in 7mm08 that I won at a gun bash and I love the thing. At the time I was a senior in high school so I had at least a little bit of money and decided on the VXI 3-9X40 from Leupold. It's a great scope...people always mention how clear it is compared to the cheapo's they buy. I love how much more light it gathers at dusk and dawn!

I have that same scope on a 270 Vanguard. Its a pretty decent scope for the cash. Do yourself a favor and buy it from a regular store though. It will be cheaper than CTD. Shipping will kill you. I know Wally world carries them around here and i think they are about 159.

My experience with Cheaper than dirt...is that they aren't cheaper. Often stuff arrives not really what was advertised.

Nikon made scope should be safe, but I'd get one elsewhere.

What would be a good leupold for a 10/22? I need one soon :D

Leupold makes scopes specifically for rimfires. They are the same as other Leupolds, but IIRC the parallax is set for 50 yards.

With a few exceptions, I have only used Leupold scopes for quite a few years. Only had a problem with two of them, out of probably 30. Each time I sent the scope in, it was repaired, cleaned and repurged and I had them back in about a week. Plus if you buy a Leupold it doesn't matter if you are the 10th owner, it is still covered under their warranty

I had a B&L 4200 Elite 1.5x6 that was mounted on one of my 338's. It had the most precise and positive movements out of any scopes I've owned, and the optics were top flight too...

I have also had a couple Nikon Monarchs. I had problems with both of them, but in all fairness, the CS I got from Nikon was outstanding. Those scopes also had excellent optics.

Burris Signature series 6x. Outstanding optics and very well made. The only problem I had with it was that the anodizing was so soft, it would almost rub off. I sent it in for repair and hadn't heard anything from them in over a month, so I called them. They had lost the scope in house
So I asked what they were going to do about it? They sent me out a new scope to replace it.

I will always stick with Leupold. Durable, priced reasonably and the absolute best CS in the business. Plus, they are made about 170 miles from where I live
