Until I can get a nice leather one made (or if you know where I can get one right now) can anyone tell me the best place to get a Green short Spec Ops sheath for my new Badger Attack??? Places to avoid??

Thanks all.......

tadgear.com

i just ordered one as well. they have the large and small in stock, with all colors available iirc.

Anyone ever try the BLACKHAWK sheaths?

My experience is that the Blackhawk sheaths aren't wide enough. They'll handle a RatManDu, but not something as wide as the Badger.

I vote for Brigade Quartermasters. I've used them for 20+ years with consistently good service.

good sheaths, crk uses them for their green berets. but the only busse i have owned that fit was a sh satin jack, and even then the retention system was uselss because of the small choil.

Anyone have both combat master and survival sheaths? If so, how do they compare (since the pocket is supposedly bigger on one)?

Thanks.

i had a survival sheath for a sjtac i sold. i didnt care for the pocket, it has a big clip on the front. i prefer the velcro, easier to use. i didnt find the pocket sizes much different.

Spec ops...great website and wonderful people to do business with. I messed up one of the kydex inserts once trying to make it fit a FSH and the president of the company responded to my email to buy a new insert, he ended up sending me two...no charge!

I've heard the same thing from someone else. The giant clip on the front is supposedly a little bit bulky. I can't speak firsthand, as I've only bought the Combat Master (velcro).

bulky and awkward. i didnt see how it expanded the storage capacity at all, since the zipper actually seemed to take away from the capacity.

how much stuff would you want to stuff into that little pouch anyway? probably only a multi tool or a couple small items.

Green sheath has an old style Leatherman Wave, a mini Bic, a small Kershaw fire steel, and a couple of fire straws. That's about all it'll hold.

I had a bad experience with TAD Gear. I placed an order with them before Christmas. It took them almost two weeks to let me know it was out of stock. They had already sent the rest of my order and was going to charge we a second shipping charge for my backordered item. If they had contacted me sooner I would have told them to wait and sent it all together. When I contacted them by phone it took me over a dozen tries before someone even bothered to answer the phone. No answering machine. They were uncaring and had no interest in making their customer happy. I canceled the rest of my order. I will never do business with them again. I ended up ordering my sheath from Survival Sheath Systems. Ended spending a little more and still had to wait for it to come off backorder (sold out nation wide even Spec Ops was out), but I was treated with dignity and respect.

above post belongs in gbu or w&c, but all my dealings with them have been fast and easy. they dont even charge me for shipping anymore.

on the order page, you can choose whether or not you want everything shipped together, as items become available, etc. which did you choose?

christmas is a busy time for EVERY retail business.

I've got a survival sheath, haven't used it yet as it's waiting for my BATACLE. I have to say I am a bit disappointed by the front pocket, seems to have far too much going on in terms of zipper + snap closure + clip closure, the thing looks like it's packed full of gear...when it's empty. I'm thinking I may pick up a combat master and try to sell the survival sheath.

Anyone out there have a first hand preference for a survival sheath over a combat master model? Am I missing some aspect of the design? I just don't get it, seems like extra bulk/weight and reduced capacity.
