Need short Spec-Ops Sheath for my new Badger

I've got a survival sheath, haven't used it yet as it's waiting for my BATACLE. I have to say I am a bit disappointed by the front pocket, seems to have far too much going on in terms of zipper + snap closure + clip closure, the thing looks like it's packed full of gear...when it's empty. I'm thinking I may pick up a combat master and try to sell the survival sheath.

Anyone out there have a first hand preference for a survival sheath over a combat master model? Am I missing some aspect of the design? I just don't get it, seems like extra bulk/weight and reduced capacity.

exactly what i thought. the combat master or navigator is the better overall sheath, cheaper too.

when i put my leatherman surge inside the survival sheath, it stuck out about three inches because of he clip, and it barely closed. however it fits very nicely inside the combat master, as do a flashlight, magazine, etc. not all together, of course. :)

belongs in gbu or w&c, but all my dealings with them have been fast and easy. they dont even charge me for shipping anymore.

on the order page, you can choose whether or not you want everything shipped together, as items become available, etc. which did you choose?

christmas is a busy time for EVERY retail business.

The orginal post asked if there was anybody to avoid so I threw in my two cents worth.

It was sometime ago so I don't remember everything. I'm pretty sure I requested to be notified if there was going to be a problem. Busy time of the year or not it does not excuse the crappy treatment and attitude I was subjected to.
I should know form Oct through March is our busy season and we bust our tails and work up to 13hrs a day and up to 6 days a week to keep our customers happy. We never treat our customers like they way I was treated.

I can also say that the eBay store, Tactical Advantage, was super fast in their shipping of the coyote brown sheath shown above (99.6% positive on 3650 feedbacks). When I wanted to order it, Brigade was out of stock, so I took a shot on eBay. Tactical Advantage carries the long and short Combat Master in four colors (no digital camo).

Let's not forget too that Spark's store, OneStopKnifeShop, also carries Spec-Ops sheaths. http://www.onestopknifeshop.com/ Right now, all models appear to be on sale for $31.50.

I prefer the Survival Sheath for when I'm in the deep brush. The security of the clip holding whatever tool I've carried, in the pouch, is a little bit more peace of mind. Other than that, I prefer the Combat Master, which I'm going to modify in some fashion, so the velcro flap stays down better.

One more note on the Survival Sheath. You can go to survivalsheath.com. Robert was the designer for that model, and a very nice man to do business with.

Some other sites like lapolicegear and brigadequartermaster both carry spec-ops along with maxpedition items and other tacticool items. I'm waiting on my combat master from aafes, and that is a l-o-n-g wait.

Thanks for all the great places. I went ahead and ordered one f/TadGear. I'll report back when I get the sheath. I also went ahead and ordered a new compass to add to my gear. I'll post up some pics when the entire thing gets here.

I've had both sheaths and prefer the Combat. It's alot sheath for the money. Wasn't that impressed with the zipper and closure features on the other design. I'll be going with the Combat again for my BATAC LE if I go with nylon...otherwise it's a call to leatherman.

Does anyone know how close in size the Spe-Ops sheaths discussed here are to the factory NO-E sheath?

Here is my BATAC SE inside my old NO-E factory sheath.

I am not sure how close in size it is to the spec-ops version but if it is close I just might use this one. Although, the pics of the spec-ops make it look shorter which I like so I still might get one.
