I'm looking for a small lightweight pen knife that will compliment a WM1 and GB belt axe in the woods, and serve as a useful EDC knife.
Im calling this a "Trio+" as I always carry a multitool. I am tentatively considering the Leatherman Squirt S4, to save weight when backpacking. Point being I'm not looking for a SAK.
I have the vision of a small one handed opening scalpel that has enough of a handle to be useful as a whittler. The only other necessity is a way to dummy cord the blade to my self, because if not, I will lose it. Thanks, Woody

How about a Fallkniven P folder. It is small, and has a full flat grind. My woods folder is a SERE 2000, but it is large. The Mini SERE is a sweet piece. The Spyderco Paramilitary is small, light, and has a great flat ground blade.

The WM1 has a 2.8 inch blade, so I'm looking for a smaller folder to do detail work. I've got a Sere 2000 and its a folding sheath knife, while the WM1 is a fixed pocket knife. If that makes any sense.....

The Kershaw chive seems like the top end for size. I'm going to look at "gentleman's folders", though I do like the form of the Dozier mini or the Fallkiniven U2.

Forgot to mention Spyderco Dragonfly, seems perfect for a very controllable little scalpel with pocket clip and one hand opening. Better steel than the Chive (and Dozier), no assisting spring, and still a low price.

I think its probably the most functional match and Im a fan of Spydercos.
I found a design I like in the Kershaw LFK,

but am suspicious of how much knife I will get for under $20. Google did come up with praises from a woodcarving forum so it might be worth ordering one.
I just got a Blade Tech Mouse and its a great knife in the bargain knife category, but i don't see whittling with it. Im not finding too many small Warncliff's availible, but I guess less folks are into whittling now-a-days.
