Need some advice on a new blade

Hi guys and gals,

I have been careful with my finances lately and have put aside some extra money just for me and was wondering what sharpened instrument I should spend it on. I have a lot of Beckers and I agree more is better. If you had a choice right now and money was not an issue what knife would you buy and why? My intended purpose will depend on the blade....however I will use it regardless of the price.

I agree I should post this in the general knife discussion forum( and I will be doing so after I post here) but I respect the opinions of all the becker heads and would like to hear what you all have to say.

Cheers

I have a bk4 and love it but would like something new.... Thinking about the bk12, busse tlg or maybe a tops bob as one can't have enough bushcrafting blades

I'd probably send Phil Wilson an email and see if he has any knives available.

If money was not an option either I'd either fill out the rest of the Beckers IE get all the ones available and mods how I would want.

Or like others have said, probably find me a custom maker to get things done.... Commission me a fixed blade... Oh yeah...

OR if you want to be really awesome.. Buy a Becker and send it to a willing custom maker to customize it to your spec...

On a side note... I really think KA-BAR needs a Becker Tomahawk/Woods Axe... if you had the money just convince them of that LOL :D

Either way... Becker content ahoy...

Maybe a custom bk2 like the warrior has..mmmmm that would be very nice....something to seriously think about unless he decides to sell it to me...just saying

if $$ was no object, I'd be looking at an M9 from TMHunt or a Terrio camp knife

Could try to find an RBK or BK6.

Money no object covers a WIDE range of blades though. I would be looking custom, personally, if money were no object. A sword by Dan Keffeler, bowie/fighting knife by Nick Wheeler, recurve by Claudio Sobral, maybe a recurve or kukri by Ryan Weeks. Perhaps a Bruce Bump of some sort. For folders, definitely a Darrel Ralph custom gunhammer with a bolt-action or AXIS lock, M390/Chad Nichols SS damascus san mai blade. But we're talking at least 1000 dollars up to possibly tens of thousands for some of those.

Since it doesn't sound like a "money no object" sort of thing, I'd say the 12 if you want a Becker that's available without a huge price tag and/or a lot of searching/bidding/nail biting....and that TOPS B.O.B. is very nice, like a 16 saber on steroids. Or maybe branch out a little and get a mid-production like a BRKT Bravo 1 or 1.5. I also really like the look of Terrio's blades...and double bonus for buying from another Beckerhead!

I'd get a TMHunt Tradewater.

Wants one baaaaaaad......

Really money is not an issue... I was looking for a trace rinaldi armeggeddon originally but they are very hard to come by and usually fetch over $1k. Now I am mainly looking for something new and exciting to play with.... And yes moose the m18 does look great... How can i get more info on it such as pricing and availability?

I love the looks of Gavko's knives. Love to watch Michal on Youtube. Sometimes I even understand most of what he says. No offense Mike! Also love the look and heft of John at 3 River Blades knives. Also love the work of Crashbladeknives. Beautiful stuff. I have learned more as a knifemaker from these three on youtube than I have reading through the forums here for two years. Not saying the info here isn't amazing, just saying it is better to see what someone is explaining to you. Gavko has a Gear Bastion page. Google "Gavko Gear Bastion." Better do it fast, he sells everything he posts in days, and as of this morning, there was only nine knives left.
This is my opinion based on my wants/desires. I have very little actual experience with knives other than the ones I make. Can't see my way clear yet to buy knives for $200-$300 when I can just hold one of my own back from sale.
