I love the looks of Gavko's knives. Love to watch Michal on Youtube. Sometimes I even understand most of what he says. No offense Mike! Also love the look and heft of John at 3 River Blades knives. Also love the work of Crashbladeknives. Beautiful stuff. I have learned more as a knifemaker from these three on youtube than I have reading through the forums here for two years. Not saying the info here isn't amazing, just saying it is better to see what someone is explaining to you. Gavko has a Gear Bastion page. Google "Gavko Gear Bastion." Better do it fast, he sells everything he posts in days, and as of this morning, there was only nine knives left.
This is my opinion based on my wants/desires. I have very little actual experience with knives other than the ones I make. Can't see my way clear yet to buy knives for $200-$300 when I can just hold one of my own back from sale.
There are definitely amazing threads on here about knifemaking. I've got a massive bookmarks folder full of them. Here's one of my favorites:

Not to mention, the knifemaking forum. I'm bigger on pictures than videos though, as a general rule, when I'm learning a new skill.
