need some chopper recommendations

Why don't you simply get an axe and have a good knife for everything else. No mater how good chopper is the knife it can never beat the axe for choping. there are various sizes, weights and designs. Prices usually are low and you don't care for edge damage because usually (mine for example) are very easy to resharpen.

for example - http://www.forestry-suppliers.com/drilldown_pages/view_category.asp?cat=101 and many other sites.

No matter what you chose...be happy with it:-)))

For what you mentioned there are only three that I would consider. If you can get a Dogfather at it's original price of 139, i'd get it first. Then I would go for the RD9 at $130 and then I would go for the HI AK 15 inch for whatever it currently is which is probably near $100. All three of these will spank anything in their price range and hold their own with anything at any price.

Totally agree  it's worth the extra money in the long run. You'll have the knife for a long time and get a lot of miles on it. Might as well be the "right" one. Performance is a HUGE issue :D best to address it!

For about $40 Khukri House makes a chopper called the Bahadur that's WAY thick and would do well. Not as nicely finished as some of the one's you named but a nice knife none the less.

The best thing though out of what you named would easily be the Busse Battle Mistress. I'll bet if you made a post you could find a used FBM or FFBM in the $300's! There's always SOMEONE that needs to get rid of something fast! Just post long enough! You'll NEVER regret it! You'll end up passing the thing on to your kids (if you have them). If you decide you don't want it at some point you won't be losing any money either if you resell!

Take it from Cobalt! He and Cliff Stamp have probably gotten the most use out of their SHBM's over the years starting with the SHBM's. If anyone can vouch for it being worth it pound for pound they can!

You might want to consider a Woodman's Pal, a real beater. Cheap, tough, and useful. Plus, ugly. But it works and you won't mind when you ding it on a rock, I-beam, etc.

Blackhawk Tatang. I've seen it around for about $80. 1085C steel with epoxy coating. Great utility chopper based on the proven barong blade shape of Filipino machetes, but reduced to 8.6 inches. Unfortunately not very sheeple-friendly, but so are most knives of that length.

The subhilt lets you choke up for finer work or grip long for heavy chopping.

tnx for the input and help you guys!!!!

I went for the kabar large heavy bowie. It’s a seriously big knife and chops okay! Not as well made as my BK7 (witch is in the same price range) but is does the job without complaining...it even smiles a lil when I give it hell!

Mora, TAK, BK7 and this Kabar chopper...im pretty fixed-blade-coverd now :D
of course i have plenty of other toys;)
