So I traded into this Mammoth Bark Inlay Large Sebenza 21 the other day. I started looking at pictures of inlayed Sebenzas and I noticed a couple things.
One I never found another with inlays like mine. Couple different versions but none shaped like mine or bolted on like mine.
The other thing I noticed is that on the birth card under Handles: it just says Titanium. All the other ones I saw mentioned the inlay.

This is my first Sebenza so my knowledge is limited on these.

What I wanna know is...

Is it a genuine Sebenza with aftermarket scales?

Is this all factory?

or

Is it made in china?

The scales were not done by CRK, not even close. The knife looks like it could be genuine to me, but...... was the birthday card hand signed with a ball pont pen or is the signature a print ? It looks a bit "scrappy"....

It's really hard to tell if it is not to me.
Is there any other I indications the knife is a fake?

Well, that's a good sign.... Maybe it's just a weird aftermarket scale...

The scales are so far from looking anything like what CRK does that it makes me believe that it is an after market/customizer' vision of what scales ought to look like. The rest of the knife looks pretty legit...so it would seem odd if a counterfeiter would go through all the trouble to make a good copy with scales that are all wrong.

BUT it could be a fake that someone customized. But mammoth is not cheap, so again, it would be an odd combination of premium/junk.

I'm suggesting that it's a real CRK, but not a real mammoth inlaid CRK.

Neat piece.

Looks legit with aftermarket scales. If you can disassemble it and take pics that would help.

Definitely after market scales. I think you probably have just that. A Plain Jane with aftermarket scales. However there are folks here better a spotting fakes than I.
I have seen knives like that for sale before, but they usually call them something like customized or custom mammoth inlay-some indication it is a modified knife

The inlays on the 21 Sebenza are always a two piece inlay and don't use screws, JFYI. :)

Yep..as Haze mentioned..It looks to be an original CRK...Well..that's about the only thing original about it.

Bad news. Someone added those inlays to it

At least the undercarriage is original

Sorry for my initial take on it. I,was basing it largely on the unusual scale. I agree that the knife itself does look like the real deal. My apologies if I caused confusion, or worry on your part my brother....

That's what I thought I was going to hear, which is ok. I like the knife and the scales really fill the had nicely.
