Need some fixed blade suggestions

I own many pocket knives but haven't gotten into fixed blades yet. I'm looking to buy one and am thinking of a 3 - 3.5 inch blade. Picking the knife isn't really the hard part for me, but I want one that I can carry horizontally on my belt. So getting the right knife, with the right sheath is important to me. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your input.

So many choices.....Pick one you like then have a kydex sheath made to your liking.....

Or maybe something a bit more utilitarian and sheeple friendly looking

Don't look at the mag pouch look at the crossdraw horizontal sheath:

OK the mag pouch is for a fine one, a Dan Wesson 10mm Specialist but we digress:

Go to the fixed blade area in the Exchange and check out which Makers you like....
There is lot to choose from.
I would unfalteringly suggest any of our fine craftsmen.

That's one of my favorite parts of being a member here. You actually get to know your knife maker, and they get to know you. There's no better way to get what you need.

Here’s my list of favorites. I have or have had some iteration of all listed here, I don’t recommend stuff unless I’ve actually owned or used it. Some may be a touch under 3 inches.

ESEE Izula
ESEE Izula 2
ESEE Xancudo
BK&T BK11
BK&T BK14
Buck Paklite Series
LT Wright Frontier Valley
TPK Mid-Size Models (Camper, Wharnie, etc)
Knives by Nuge Wicket XL
White River Backpacker
Cerberus RIOTT
Cerberus MAFB

That’s just off the top of my head. I have a DCC Little Rascal in the mailbox waiting on me that comes highly recommended but I haven’t put hands on one yet.

Take a look at the Bradford knives, model 3, 3.2, or 3.5. I believe that they come with a horizontal sheath for scout carry. They have an excellent reputation, interesting steel choices, and you can choose different knife options on their website.

I'm partial to the White River Backpacker Pro (which I think might now be called the Model 1?). Excellent fit and finish, 3" blade, great sheath you can easily carry horizontally with a Tek-Lok. That's how I carry mine.

If I need something larger, I size up to a Bradford Guardian 5.5. Great knife but obviously longer than what you're after -- although I've heard only good things about their smaller knives, and based on my impeccable 5.5 I'd say give them a look as well.

If you can still fine one for sale somewhere, SENCUT made one called the Waxahachie that may or may not fit the bill, or Ruike's Hornet, or Civivi's fixed blade Elementum, or Petrified Fish's Beluga...
