Need some help/advice on moving to higher grits during cleaning the bevel.

I am a novice knife maker. Under 10blades. I have a 1x42 grinder which I bought some belts from supergrit for. Currently I am having trouble getting the bevel to look better as I move up grits. I have 50, 120 and 220 ceramic belts for pre heat treat.
I get my bevel even and pretty good free grinding on the 50grit but it seems as I move up to clean the blade I get it looking shittier. I am focusing on the convex. I am looking for advice that will work with my current setup that will allow me to get cleaner finish on the grinder before I move on to hand sanding.
Below is a pic of a knife I have done the flat grind and am moving onto the convexing. I feel the grind are pretty even and smooth.

As I move to the 220 after the 120 it almost get worse then if I would have left it at 50 and hand sanded it.

Here is what is going on up close.

Here is the other side after extensive hand sanding. 0.5hours. I have heard of 3m belts but did not know if it will help or getting a pad behind the belt? What type of pad?

Thanks for any advice in advance

What I see is grinding with worn belts and going to finer grits before the course belts have established the grind you want. In fact I see that convex grind to be too much convex. That isn't either going to help when going to the finer sizes. Frank

Is that 30 min. or 5 hrs? If it is only 30 min. carry on and you will get better and faster as you go.1 hr of hand sanding on a blade is not unheard of.

I appreciate the advice. I think the pics may be somewhat deceiving the radius of the convex. I see what you are saying in the pic. The grinds are even and pretty smooth but I get those groves from the 220. They are not transferring from the lower grits.
The first pic is just starting to create the convex. So far the best method I have found with my equipment is to establish a good flat grind and round the shoulders.
If I run my fingers on the blade it is smooth from the 50grit as far a even grinding. I used all new belts on that knife.
Ya 30mins of sanding. Maybe I should not complain.
Here is a view of the blade looking at the tip after sanding. I guess maybe gives a idea of the convex

I think scotchbrite belts is what I am looking for after some research. Anyone have suggestions on getting medium and fine
Or what they use?

Scotchbrite belts will not remove any scratches. They will make a consistent finish but you have to do the scratch removal before you use them. No magic belt there. Unfortunately. Jess

I dont think initially I was explaining my problem real clearly. Not looking for magic but was looking for a better method then what I was using. I am looking for a finer belt that will allow me to get closer to a final finish but not send me a step back by adding the groves in the picture. The groves happened when I was using the new 220 belt attempting to remove the straight and normal lines from the 120 belt.
I guess when you said consistent finish you nailed what I was attempting to ask..
Which scotchbrite grinds do you use? I know they are rated in medium, fine etc.

I have both the medium and fine in scotchbrite, but have never used the medium. I use Trizac down to 16 then the fine scotchbrite. I have found that with some of the economy belts the grit size may not be consistent. Some times they may have a chunk of a larger grit. Jess
