Need some help deciding

I love GEC knives but for whittling I would pick the sea horse. It has the right feel for a whittler and the blade combo is about perfect for a production whittler. The fit and finish on THIS Case is at par with GEC although I prefer 1095 over Case SS any day.

My only GEC is a #62 Courthouse Whittler, which I might offer as an option, too. It's right in between the sizes of the seahorse and the conductor. I don't own a seahorse, but have handled a few. For whatever reason, the pattern didn't click with me. I like this GEC a lot. I suspect the problem might be in finding one, unfortunately.

If you're planning to whittle, the Seahorse is what you want. I don't own a Conductor but I have other GEC'c to include the Geppetto Whittler, Half Whittler, and Executive Whittler. I collect wharncliffe blades because I'm a woodcarver and the Seahorse is a great knife for that. I plan to buy at least two more when I can work them into my budget amongst the GEC's that I recently learned that I can't live without. Just my two cents... My advice, buy them both.

Yes the 62 is a very hand friendly knife to whittle with as well. I prefer shorter wharncliffe blades and this two blade has a coping that is a nice wide blade for a secondary.
