Ok, got sort of an odd request here. I purchased, as sort of a novelty item in a way, an old gigand 'shockwave' designed by dr. fred carter.
Its an aluminum framed knife, with G10? scales, liner lock, and an AUS8 wharncliffe blade, bead blasted grey and cryo'ed. It had some odd metal spacers/washers in the blade, so that even when tightened down pretty good, the blade opening was SUPER smooth. Like REALLY smooth.
The lockup was very tight and positive. But heres the deal, while she was RAZOR sharp, and kind of a novel design, she really wasnt put together good. The little allen head screws in there, are now stripped, and I would need someone to disassemble this thing, put new screws in (preferably torx heads, made from a good steel) and re-tap (where required) any holes that may have damaged threads.
If I had the micro tools necessary for this, and a place to find some new mini screws at, this would take no more than 15 minutes to do. But since I havent the resources to effect this repair, I was wondering if there were anyone out there with the necessary tools, I could send this knife to, to do the work. Anyone?
The picture of the knife, is here. It's the top one.
