Of course, the 21 is a gateway CRK. Before long, you will want another 21(probably a Micarta Insingo or a nice Cocobolo inlay) a Mnandi for dress-up occasions... maybe a 25... definately an Umnumzaan... and most definately at least one Damascus. :)

21's are pretty much the benchmark that you WILL measure every knife agaisnt.
For me it just meant I had to get rid of every non CRK modern folder I had. :D
 
With your budget, get a decorated computer graphic. It also comes with a shiny blade..."Don't buy no ugly knife." :)
 
I think you will be happy with whatever you choose. My opinion is that a 21 is the absolute best choice for one's first CRK as it is the knife that built CRK's reputation and success. Great decision!
 
I have a Lg 21 carbon fiber and absolutely love it. The solid carbon fiber presentation slab does reduce the weight of this model compaired to the regular version that sports the duel ti slabs but will not impede the knifes overall performance. Good luck with your choice/selection and just get out there and use that puppy!!!!
