Im not super familiar with buck knives other than the few I have ( my edc's). But today I went to a gun shop in the area and was looking at knives and they had a ton of bucks. I was looking for a new work knife since I lost my 180 crosslock. And I was looking for something tough. I found this strider, a knife I have never held before. there was no box for the knife so they said it was marked down to $45 bucks. Im not sure what the original price was but it seemed fair and the knife seems tough. Anyone give me any info on this knife? Steel, usa made or not, good knife bad knife, original price? thanks in advance maybe the pics will help.- Joel

That is a 2005 889SBMF 420HC

GREAT knife.

Don't recall what the retail list was. I never paid over $60 or so IIRC. But I'm old and suffer from CRS.
$45 if never used is good.

Here's my herd of Strider Buck knives...

Thanks for the info goose great knives too. So any one have the strider story for me, are they a military line of knives, and is there different brands who make striders? thanks again- Joel

No worries Joe :)
I like showing pics of my kids.

As for the "story"...I dunno.
Seems a bit like sitting at Thanksgiving dinner with the extended family. Then someone brings up the uncle that is obvious by his absence and no one talks about.

Hopefully someone with some real knowledge will chime in.
I'm just a kid sitting at the little folding table waiting for the dark meat, mashed 'taters, and gravy watching the old folk get drunk. Lot of people here with solid data.

Just didn't want you to think I was ignoring your post.

HEY! Speaking of the "extended family". Where the hell is everyone? This forum seems relatively quiet lately.
