Need Some Help With a Handle Profile

i love those curves, and the handle swell. i figured thats what you might be after. i call them the loveless curves but i am not certain who was the person to invent it. adds a lot of sexiness to a knife handle !

I wish I knew what to call that style. I really like it in my hand and in my eye, but I don't know what to call it. I think of it as a "Wheeler" style because that's the first place I saw it. When I'm showing my knife designs to customers or potential customers I call it a "special." Most of them have never seen it and need to put one in their hand before they accept it's utility.

All I have to do now is pull off the grinding and finishing.. Yes, I love them too, this will be my first one like this. Not sure who did it on a knife first. I think it's a knifes interpretation of an axe handle. There are a lot of similarities.

Looks good so far. The main caveat is to leave a small flat on the spine and belly sides to avoid getting the six pins too short and close to a thin edge. After all the shaping is done, it can be smoothed to round it a bit. The top will round easily, but the bottom should be a bit blunter. Shoot for a slightly flat bottomed egg shape cross section.

Thanks all Stacy.

Just getting the bevels done on the grinder and ready for hand sanding then on to the task of making these drawings come to life. Up to 400 on the bevels and the plunges are on the $$. Thanks to the carbide guides I made. Definitely an investment worth every penny. Think I'm going to call it a night and start the blade hand sanding tomorrow so I don't start rushing it and hopefully getting to start on the scales Friday or Saturday.

Thanks all for the help and support.

Smart! I can't tell you how many projects I've ruined from being tired.
