Hello everyone!
I'm new to this forum, but have been a knife enthusiast for a long time. A few years back I aquired a full custom George Gibo folder from a friend of mine who was selling off his collection.
At the present time, I'm in need of financial supplement, so I figure I'll at least make an attempt to find the value of this beautiful knife.
The knife in question is a George Gibo from Hilo, Hawaii. George is a fine knife maker and has had a multiple page article printed in Knives Illustrated.
The knife is a liner-locking folder. The scales are a beautiful blue mammoth ivory of very high quality. The bolsters are brass-bronze-copper layered mokume. The liners are jeweled hand-filed 2-tone anodized titanium. The blade is a tanto-point made of layered damascus of very high quality.
The fit and finish of this knife is world-class. The action is some of the smoothest I've felt besides that of the legendary Stan Fugisaka, who happens to be a friend of Gibo.
The total length of the knife is 7 1/8" open, 4 1/8" closed. The blade measures 3 1/8" long with a width of 3/4" and a thickness of ~1/8" or 4mm.
I'd like to find out the average value of this knife, so that I may sell it ASAP. Of course if anyone would like to inquire about purchasing this knife, you may contact me through email: mikefromearth@gmail.com
What do you think I can/ should sell this knife for?
Thank you so much for your input, I really appreciate it.
