Hi I have had a honey locust tree in my backyard and we just cut it down and I would like to keep some of this wood for some knife scales so what I would like to know is does this would need to be stabilized or can it even be stabilized due to its hardness any help on this would be great guys thanks.

I feel that mesquite benefits from being stabilized. It is fairly hard and dense, but not so much that it would not benefit from stabilizing.
