Need some steel

Okay so I just got my brake drum forge and railroad track anvil set up in my back yard, that only leaves me with the need for charcoal (Easily procured) and steel (not so much). So I need some steel, and I would prefer to get steel that I know is the right stuff instead of poking around a junk yard and guessing. Does anybody know of a steel source with reasonable prices for good steel for beginners?

Also at this time I do not have a grinder. What type should I get to start off with? Also anything else I might need?

I have plenty on hand to get you started. We need to get together anyway.
Starter steels for the type of knives you want to make are 1084, W2, and 1095

I am looking forward to getting together with you Mr. Stacy, I'm just eager to get pounding on some more steel. :) I'm hooked.

You're a lucky guy! Stacy is a wealth of knowledge and a heck of a nice guy to boot! He'll get you started off right

I don't know about him being lucky to learn anything but bad habits from me......
but, he is friends with Chris Moss ( knifemaker 87), and Chris is just plain amazing.

Jonah, I am thinking that I will have a free weekend in a couple of weeks. I will email you and we can compare schedules.
