Hi everyone, I am a beginner in knife things! So do not know much about. Just need a small fixed blade around 8-9 inch in overall length. Shoule be a USA MADE within $350 production knife.

By far, I have got SOG SEAL PUP, SOG SEAL 2000, Ka-Bar short USMC, TOPS Interceptor 302. They are pretty knives, I will say TOPS is my favorite.

Plan to get another one, maybe TOPS Interceptor 331 with Serration, Strider HT or EB. Just confused about them, need some REAL suggestions from u guys. Better be DROP or Recurve blade shape. Honestly, I like STRIDERs pretty much, but say I am in Australia, cannot find even a piece of Strider or BUSSE, so please tell me some about them or some even better Brands if there are. Thanks a lot.

BTW, this is my first post.
So , c , pretty happy to join this fantastic KNIFE WORLD.

Go look at the m6 from swamp rat.

If you can afford them, IMO Bob Dozier makes the best working FB available. There are also other makers like Gene Ingram and Charles May that also make a very fine knife but my personal favorites are Bob's. His sheaths are also the best when it comes to carry comfort and concealment.

Good hunting.

Thanks, bladeprince! Ur suggestion sounds great, I'll try when I have the chance.

Now I just wanna a PRODUCTION KNIFE, ha , for REAL using!

Have you looked at Bark River Knife and Tool. Probably sharpest production knife I have ever used.

Well within your budget, make here in the good ol' USA, and great designs for outdoor use.

Welcome aboard:thumbup:

Not sure why you want to spend up to $350 for a production knife when you could get a hand-made knife (and all the benefits of that) for well under that figure. The Doziers, for instance, are well-known as great "REAL using" knives, they did not get their reputation from being safe queens. Just look at them. They are not fancy, just excellently made. There is also the level of attention your knife receives as it is being made. It's not made on an assembly line, it's made by hand from a raw piece of steel by Bob Dozier and Dan Crotts. You won't get a "Monday" or "Friday" knife there. You also won't get a knife that everybody else has - you will get a Dozier, that only people who really know and appreciate well-made knives would buy. That's a tiny percentage of the knife-buying public BTW. I've never heard of a complaint about the quality of a Dozier knife; most production companies have staffers set aside to handle the returned lemons. As with all reputable knifemakers, if you're not satisfied with a Dozier knife, they will make it right.

...unless you meant "abusing" when you said "real using"? In that case, a Dozier may not be for you. They are made for using as a knife, but not for chopping cinderblocks, etc.

As you can see from my post, I'm a Dozier fan also. But I just wanted to say that your post was almost poetic. Very well put and a pleasure to read.

Also, some wonderful custom work on the For Sale by Maker sub forum.
Read the reviews and look at the great pics of these knives. It's all at your finger tips with the great resources offered here. :)

Coooooooooooooooool guys!

There is a question I wanna ask. Strider and TOPS have very good reputation in Australia and I can find them in almost every major American ONLINE KNIVES STOREs, but in our forum, these two brands have seldom been mentioned. Why? CURIOUS!!!

Yes, anyone knows the price of Swamp Rat HowlingRat?
Now, I'll C I gonna grab one of that when it is back to stock.
