I recently picked up a decent (made in India) kukri. I'm happy with the knife, but the crappy wooden sheath was infested with tiny bugs that were eating the wood from the inside out. so I pitched it.

Anybody know where i can buy a nice aftermarket sheath for a 1/4'' wide kukri? I really want to take this knife into the woods, but i don't want to carry it in my hand.

there are some threads about custom made sheaths for khukuris in the himalayan imports area, some of them are very cool. Dan Koster might have some advice for you, he seems to love khukuris and is a knifemaker. Too.
Great bush tool, them khukuris.

As was mentioned before me. Go to the Himalayan Imports forum. There are lots of threads about replacing sheaths. The Sarki shop is a good choice to go with as mentioned also. Terry and his wife do GREAT work!!:D

Too bad. 30 secs or so in the microwave would have solved the problem - once you had the metal chape off..

Ed: Never mind. There could be nails in the construction. Duh.
