If you have a local industrial heat treater they will most likely test for you. We have one about 5 miles from my house and I've gone down there a few times and they've just done it for free. I've offered to pay but the guy always say if I'm just doing a blade here and there he will just do it for me real quick. Only takes about 30 seconds and I'm back on my way home. Might be worth a try.

Many machine shops and spring shops have one and will do a blade for free or for a buck.
