need whitewater kayak vest knife

In the OP he mentioned that in an emergency it is easy to accidentally stab oneself with a pointed knife. Hence a blunt tip knife would seem much safer in this particular application. It sounds to me like he is looking for a safety item that hopefully will not need to be used, not an all around knife. In this case it seems to me that it would be worth while to go with a more specialized tool.

As I said earlier, this is exactly why the salt 1 and pacific salt have a more rounded tip than the delica and endura, but fair enough. I hear what your saying and respect your opinion, it's just different than mine.

Well I'm no expert on these kind of knives by any means. I guess the OP will have a better idea of exactly what he needs and hopefully finds something useful in this thread. I think the Spydercos are good knives for the job too, probably better knives all in all, I'm just not sure about having a folder. Are there any similar fixed blade knives out there?
