Need wood handle material, opinions

It sounds like a good choice. Once you go blackwood, you'll never go backward.

Any last words? I think I am going with African Blackwood.

I think Blackwood will go nicely. My only other suggestion might be a nice piece of Macassar Ebony if you want something with multiple tones to the wood.

With the mokume being so highly "figured", I suggest a "plainer" wood as others said. Too much detail or figure is kind of confusing to the eye, IMO. Deker's knife above is a great example of the overall knife not being too "busy". :thumbup: Because the grain on the scale is relatively simple, it allows the pattern of the damascus and the mosaic pins to really pop out.
