Need Your Advice:Spyderco Delica or ColdSteel Voyager?

I like Cold Steel also, I have a few different models & they are very good knives ( Solid & Dependable) but of the two you questioned about I would get a Waved Spyderco Delica  I have been packing a Spyderco Endura (large version of Delica) on & off for about 4 years now . GREAT KNIVES !

I've used a lot of Cold Steel Voyagers in my time and I like them mostly because of their sizes (I like larger blades). I've also used a 3-inch plain for awhile and it was fine. If you want a smallish (3-inch) blade knife, I like Spyderco's Native much better than the Delica. It's only $40 at Wal*Mart and has an S30V blade, which I think is much more nicely configured.

If $$$ is an option, Smokey Mountain Knife Works has a Special Purchase on a CRKT M16-02 for $24.99. The catalog number is CRM1602, and this knife has a Carson flipper, a nice aluminum handle, LAWKS, and an AUS8 plain edge, tanto. Exceptional price. Free shipping, too, the last time I checked.

Between those two, I'd definitely go with the Delica 4. Personally, I would recommend making sure that if you buy a Delica, that it is in fact the Delica 4, though. The earlier Delicas are very good, but the Delica 4 is great. I love every change they made, and love this knife.

That said, if you haven't looked at it yet, you ought to check out the Spyderco Salt 1, too. It's very similar to the Delica (in fact, the blade shape of the Delica 4 is about halfway between the blade shapes of the Delica 3 and the Salt 1). It uses H1 steel, which is so close to being completely rust-proof, that you never have to worry about it. Makes for a very low maintenance knife. I've been carrying one as my main EDC for two years now.

you're probably tired of hearing this but the delica 4 for sure. great knife for a very good price. good company to.

+1 for the Delica. The Voyager series are actually quite a good value.

I prefer the Delica because:
Ergos
Options
Steel
Steel Liners
Company ethos

I would get the Voyager if I wanted one of the super large Voyagers.

Either way, you can't lose. They're both great EDCs for the average user.

Can you use one more Delica vote? Awesome knife. I have the wave and its become one of my favorites for EDC.

And - in case you're interested, the Native is a kick-a$$ option.

Anyone know where I can get a delica wave with combo edge? Does Sypderco make one?

But, Spyderco's President, Sal Glesser, is an active member of these forums, so you can bend his ear and ask him to make one. The Delica and Endura "wave" are only offered in plain edge, for now that is.;)

Welcome aboard!:)
