Does anyone have some good home made burner plans and pics?

I found I.G.'s burner and forge pics, but would like to see what others have come up with.

I am planning on a forge made from two freon tanks welded end to end, would a ventri style burner work for welding temp or should I plan on a forced air burner?

forge will be lined with 2'' inswool, and I am still uncertain on what I will use to seal the the liner with.

thanks guys C.J.

To seal the Inswool use ITC100. Darren Ellis carries all the supplies for a forge you may need.
I feel that I have better control and less gas usage with a forced air burner. I can weld at 4 to 5 psi. I only use 1" Inswool in my forges.
Good Luck:thumbup:

Thanks I.G.
I plan on buying most of the refractory from Darren.
First I'm going to finsh the forge body and get all of my measurements so I'll know more closely what I'll need to complete the forge.

if you need a blower i have an extra one that is already mounted on a 1 1/2" flange. email me and ill give you the details. just pay for shipping.

Thanks I.G.

Feel free to call me if you need help.;)

Hi CJ, If your checking with Darren anyway, take a look at his side arm burner. If you want to look at drawings and comments first, take a look at zoeller forge. It can weld if your forge isn't too big and it's set up with good coatings (like the itc-100). One inch of inswool is probably plenty. Good luck, Craig

Thanks guys.
thanks pimp, I work in the hvac industry blowers are dime a dozen here, but thanks anyway.

just use one of those squirrel cage fans yall have there. one taht you can mount to a 1 1/2" flange. also add an on/off switch to it. i have a remote on/off switch for mine.
