Hey all! I have a 4x36 belt sander/6in disc sander combo and I'm trying to use a grinding jig on it for bevels(the filing jig got old). My issue is, the work rest needs to extend on either side of the belt for this jig, and it doesn't. I'm trying to figure out how to make one or but one, anyone that has any ideas, I mean any, please share!

Simple, all you need is a 2x4 and some nails.

I can't find the thread with the work rest on it, can someone who knows about it send me a link? Thanks!

More food for thought, USA Knife maker sells a conversion kit for the 4x36 sander. Here is a video that shows the kit. Maybe you could fabricate an arm off the side like they have used only have it support your work rest instead of the slack belt assembly shown.
