Needing Help with my new Becker BK knife choice.

Where do I find a bk12? I love the look! I went to blade hq and they didn't have and large bk`s in stock. I'm not finding many bks anywhere in utah,

I'll put in another vote for the 10. I'm biased because that's the only full-sized Becker I currently own, but I like the lighter feeling than the BK2. It has plenty of beef to do splitting and chopping, while being a bit better for slicing and lighter to carry. Any of the line will be pretty much bombproof unless you get silly, and they can still take a lot of silly.
 
I don't think I'd recommend the 12 for your first just because it's about twice as much as the Ka-Bar beckers. You could get a BK9 and a 10 right off the back and kick off the addiction good and proper. There will be plenty of time for the 12 once the Beckeritus has taken hold and the divorce is finalized. :D

three2seven, I am with you sir, but it seemed like he was really looking for a full size, even large size Becker, so in that field, I was recommending the 12. Personally I like the 2 a lot, but it seems to be a love it or hate it blade, so the 12 is my choice to recommend in that size.

That's actually one of the reasons I suggested it, lol... the 12 was my first BK purchase, and after that the rest seem cheap ;)

Yes, it IS a thread asking for opinions based on certain constraints which the OP placed with his BK-2 > BK-7 range which excludes the neck knives and the BK-9. However, sometimes the expressed use justifies suggesting something outside the constraints. I like the look of the "12".
