Needing info on surface grinder converting it to run belts

I picked up a surface grinder and I had a few questions about converting it to run belts.
If you had some pictures or any info you could share I would really appreciate it.
and should I put a 220 motor or stay with the 3ph motor that is on it?
 
I have the original 3ph motor still on mine and run it off the same vfd that is on my disc sander.

Hey Karl,, Thats a good Idea!! what about the wheel and arm you have on it? I heard there is a kit you
can buy to change it over to the belt? Looks like a good surface grinder you got there
 
The control arm is from a Grizzly grinder.
Any wheel you put on it has to be machined to fit the spindle.
This was made by a company named Sunray.
 
I would also like to know how much material can you take per pass with the belts vs stones, if any has any experiance.
 
With our belt conversion I've done .020" per pass on 410 stainless (and it will remove more). However, I prefer to remove .005" or less. When using a stone the most was .002".
