Just recieved my Small Tac from Neil. His attention to detail and craftsmanship is superb. He answered my questions quickly and always kept me informed of the progress. In short, he is an incredible knifemaker and I would recommend him to anyone.

I'll second that!! Not only does Neil make great knives (Here's a pic of what I've gotten from him so far) he's great to work with. I had the most fun dealing with him, and fortunately for me I trusted his advise on what to do with my Grifter (bottom knife). I think it turned out GREAT!!

I'll third. Great work and great guy. I've always been happy dealing with him and it's a pleasure to be expecting another stellite custom from him shortly. I'd grab him now before his waiting list catches up with where it should be.

Could not agree more with you guys. Fantastic person to work with!

Neil reminds me of the craftsman from yesteryear....could make anything out of metal--sort of a McGuyver of steel. Pride in work, extraordinary attention to detail, perfectionist. I could go on, but why embarrass the guy?

I have a Buck Strider tanto that was customized by Neil....people flip over that knife when I show it to them, offering me obscene amounts of money, women, wine....(well, they really don't offer me women

In short, the Dr. of the way of the lathe is a great guy and an artist of his craft. His father taught him very well.

You can't go wrong with Neil.

Shane,
After 2 tries to make your knife, I MUST thank you again for your patience!! At this point in my knifemaking I'm pround to say that I SELDOM botch up a knife.... ESPECIALLY my Small Hunters and Tac/Utilities. But I REALLY *$#@*ED that first one up, AFTER it was ready for its final "touches:

There is NOTHING like that cold chill that runs through your bones as you stare at a knife that you KNOW is RUINED!!! Murphys law also applied..... with at least 50 heat treated blanks hangning on the walls, NONE of them were what I ruined!!!

Troy,
It has been a genuine pleasure getting to know you and working on these projects. I'm looking forward to FINALLY meeting you in person in Atlanta.

HJK,
I have this "almost finished" Raft Knife looking at me every time I sit down at my work bench. I'll be in touch VERY soon!!

Gus,
Your Raft knife is NEXT!!

Greg,
I had several women offer their honor because of that knife, I just never honored their offers! I took the wine instead

I agree

Recently got a small stellite hunter from Neil and he was great to deal with. He made exactly what I wanted and always responded to my emails quickly and courteously. He and Tom Mayo are by far the best guys I have dealt with.

Thanks Dan!!

Quite often I make a knife that I would really like to keep for myself, your "Small Tac/Hunter Hybrid" was one of them! Mine is similar but has bare handles. Yours felt MUCH nicer. Unfortunately the way I drilled my knife, I cannot do the same type of handle
