Neil Blackwood, where is he? He has my money, but does not respond.

On July 10th, I emailed Neil Blackwood and asked him when he'd have a Custom Mini Skirmish Flippers available for sale.

On July 17th, he responded and said he had nearly completed a batch of Elmax MS Flippers and could ship by the end of the week. He gave a run down of the prices and specs. I quickly responded and said I would like one from the completed batch.

On July 21st, Neil explained he had one ready and could ship by the end of the week. The price of the completed flipper was $1150. Neil asked if I could mail the payment next day via USPS to expedite shipping of the knife. He requested I send payment of $1130 to cover my one day shipping cost of the check. I sent a certified bank check on July 22nd as he requested. I sent him one email advising the check had been sent. He replied with "Ok Thanks Sean!"

On July 24th, two days after I sent the check I asked Neil if he had received payment. He advised that his girlfriend had picked it up in the mail the day prior and it had slipped his mind. He concluded, "Thanks update soon!!" That was the last I've heard from Neil.

I emailed Neil (ONCE each day) on the 26th, 28th, and 31st asking him for updates on the knife he said was completed and said I'd have by the 25th. I sent him one message via Facebook (on the 31st) asking if he could check his email and please give an update or ship my knife.

Yesterday I advised him I wanted a complete refund and yet still no response. In all the emails to Neil all I asked for was the status. I explained to Neil that I am going on Vacation next week for a few days and would have no one to sign for the $1130 knife if he does ship. No response.

During the week I asked about the supposedly completed and paid for knife Neil Blackwood has posted pics of completed knives on Instagram. I've had two friends post in his Instagram posts asking him to email me. He has time to make more sales, but not to respond after he gets his money or to ship the damn knife I've paid for.

I own other Blackwood knives and he was one of my favorite makers, I'm really bummed out. Advice please.

I sent Neil an email advising him of this post.

Man that totally sucks, I don't order Custom Knives just the good production ones for this reason. im sure most Custom Makers are fine but I always read this forum and it saddens me to know this stuff happens. It seems to be getting worse.with all due respect 1130$ for a Knife is out of this world. It better be touched by God or dipped in 24K Gold.

From my experience Neil is pretty good answering emails up to he has sold the knife. There are plenty of stories about him in IG about communication issues. Feel bad about you brother but hopefully he will have your knife ready this coming week. Can you get your money back from the bank worst case scenario??

Thanks, I had a bank check drafted from my credit union. I'll contact them on Monday. I don't want a knife from someone who screws the customer around. I want my funds back and I'm done with him.

If he had simply stated the knife was not completed I'd be fine. Apparently he has zero communication skills. His communication skills are just fine before he gets paid. Payment received, thanks, now Ignore You. Why say it is ready to ship and then ask me to send the funds next day to expedite shipping if you don't plan on following through. I don't expect a maker who has been around as long as he has to conduct business like this. At first I thought maybe he was sick or had family issues. Then guys tell me he is continuing to post completed pieces on Instagram. Its complete BS.

I guess he posted more pics on Instagram since this post, yet still no response from him.

I finally got a response from Neil. Apparently his CNC was down and he could not answer his email because he was focused on repairing the CNC for the past 8 days. He said his girlfriend was handling all emails and apologized for her not answering mine. I asked for a refund. I'll close this until I get my refund.

Thanks Pellel2 for sending an email to him as well as the couple makers who gave him a shout. I hope Neil gets his CNC up and running. I wish him the best.

I don't mean to change the subject but I was under the impression that Neil did everything with manual machines and did not have CNC.

I guess not anymore. My knife was also completed last week and "boxed up ready to ship". Don't exactly know how the broken CNC had anything to do with my transaction.
