Hello all,
Well, here is a treat that I don’t get to do often... a collaboration with another respected maker, L.R. “Butch” Harner. Butch and I have worked on a couple of projects with others before but, this is the first one just he and I have done together. This piece work as a great fighter with it’s long sweeping edge and wonderful balance but, would do just as well as a large Camp Utility cutter. The sweeping blade (done by me) is 10 1/4” forged from W2 high carbon steel with acid soaked and forge marked flats. The bevels are hand-rubbed and etched to bring out the hamon. The guard (handle and guard by Butch) is a multi-treated “coffin-style” in wrought iron. The faceted handle is Polynesian Kau wood, a naturally stable and very beautiful wood native to that area (also used for canoes and many other items). The overall length of this knife is 16 1/2” and it comes with a tooled leather blade sheath with belt loop and retention strap by Paul Long.
Price for this piece is $965.00, plus shipping.

Feel free to contact me or Butch for any other info.

Very nice knife and the sheath is exceptional. Don't think I have ever seen tooling quite that unique, well done
