Well after abusing my new BATAC this weekend she was looking a little shabby. Normally it's not an issue on a user but I like the nekkid look. ;) And so just in case anyone was considering this here is a glimps to help you in your decision.

So here is my new stripped BATAC.

After some throwing, chopping, and batonning.

After about 7 minutes of some stripper on the blade.

After. This is the cleanest chunk of INFI I have had in a while. The dimples are very shallow, most of the blade looks like it has a bead blast, and the spine is smooth all the way around again with a bead blast look. It screams "urban/industrial" to me. I like it. Later I'll do a little scotch brite or sand paper but most of the work is done here.

looks good. i agree, unlike most coated blades, it has a bead blast look to it. let us know how it handles further abuse!

Looks good!

Boy, when you decide to try one out, you really give it a workout

After about 10 minutes of some 3M scotch brite...

Later tonight I plan on doing a little more work on it and polish the spine.

Just out of curiosity has anyone smoothed out their "INFI dimples"? I like them and it seems like it would take an insane amount of hand sanding to achieve this. Plus, maybe they work a little like the CBT. Less surface area to cause friction.

Not me --- I think "insane amount of snading" is the appropriate description!

I just polished the spine all the way around. Still needs some more work but this little Badger is looking pretty good.

You don't waste time punishing your blades do you. I remember seeing on your profile that you teach science and I was curious. Are you as hard on your students as you are on your knives. I hope so. They probably deserve it -the little buggers.:) :)

wow! looks fantastic!

btw, i have tried to remove the dimples, not worth the work involved. and i have grown quite fond of them anyway.

Seems as though the dimples would be a place for dirt and crud to hide. Are they very deep?

I can't give you a scientific measurement but, no, they are very shallow and easy to clean if needed. I always clean up my blades after use. A simple brush is the most I have ever needed. Usually the usual soap and water.

Well I think this is the final product. After all, this is a user.

I may add a skull lanyard. ;)

Well I hope this thread helps anyone who was wondering on whether or not to buy/use/or/modify their badgers. It is really a great little knife and I am calling this my official EDC.
