One of my real fears of the Federal Government has to do with their ineptness. It is quite possible for them to waste time and resources monitoring me, or anyone here. It is even possible to invent a reason for the attention to justify the expense later. The killers of Kennedy were allowed to go free for not much more reason than that- it would have been embarressing to the Feds.

AFter posting for a time in the Civil Libeties forum on About.com my mail box started to do funny things- shortly after 9-11, particularly after recieving mail from a guy involved in the legalize pot brigade. No, not exactly my cause. The mail has returned to normal. But I have to wonder if my involvment in second amendment orgs and various forums sends up a few red lights. Anyone here a member of AK47.net?? AR15.com? The Firing Line? Now here I am on, BIG HONKIN KILLER KNIVES FORUM. Would anyone bet that Uncle Bill has not been examined since the events in Nepal have heated up?

Am I paranoid? Surely. Without cause? Well... after submitting my SS# for gun background checks years ago, I noticed it took seconds for all subsequent checks, instead of minutes...and we know they do not keep permanent records, RIGHT?!!

To all you wise men of the military, current and former...I imagine you all have stories that would defy mom and pop in the burbs. And now National ID's are coming, with chips, for the safety of our children...and so it goes

Anybody ever cast silver bullets or silver/tin or silver/lead mix and see how fast they cast be driven without "leading" the barrel??? Or did you just keep some around for werewolves and vampires?

Now a 3" magnum 12 or standard payload filled with silver buck or slugs sounds nice for a behind the front door gun.

Far as whom we may be, take a guess - remembering we have some intellectually scary folks. Ever notice how many have emal addies that end in edu.caom.

At those prices, you can shoot a lot of .308 - Some of the boys at Shooting Times loaded "Lone Ranger" type silver bullets about 15 years back. They got tight, 18" groups at 25 yds., 'cause the silver slugs started to tumble about ten yds. from the muzzle. Oregon Trail uses silver in their amalgam as a hardener. They started up when silver prices went in the toilet, but their latest increase is probably due more to general inflation than anythling else. The only thing they DON'T cast, that I need, is a 300 to 400 gr. full wadcutter for .45 Colt. The modern, super expandable wonder HPs are good, but not very much that's walking around out there will stay standing if you shoot a brick through it.

I don't even have a 351 SL. JUst looking...for a friend. I tend to look into strange things... I could swage them down from .357 but then I'd have to buy a Swager!

Yes, I too have looked for a full wadcutter 300 grainer for the colt. Somewhere there is a forumula for tissue damage based upon the diameter of the (oglive)? the cone at end of cast bullet point, which is the true cutting surface. Ever gone to the Free yellow ballistic site? People don't make full wadcutter anymore.... you've probably tried NEI. But I don't like having to cast. I got enough trouble with a 375 Supermag Wesson revolver...

Anyway, the other topic is big brother watching.....surely you can weigh in with a little paranoia...

Don't know Pappy, they've been talking national ID card: for our own safety, of course! I do know that stupid sack kid who blew up the mailboxes was traced by his cell phone...as of Oct of last year, all cell phones sold in the US were mandated to have a GPS locator chip in them. I don't know if they found the kid with that or just his calls. The news said the signal.

I view cellphones as a good emergency comm system and nothing more. I don't have one and don't want one.
