Just finished building this Nixie Tube clock kit today. I've been fascinated by them for years but I always got sidetracked before I actually bought a kit :D I'm probably going to build a wood and brass steampunky type enclosure this weekend.

That came out great!

Building one into a cigar box has been on my to do list for a while now.

Thanks! Doesn't really match the decor at work though...time to build one in an industrial gray housing with some GE logos ;)

And...the control room clock is done!

Some years back, I saw an ad on Craigslist for a box of tubes and an old voltmeter with nixie tube readout (non-functioning) for $25.
I grabbed it. 'Turned out to have four large Burroughs tubes (7971 or similar), and six small tubes.
I considered building a clock, but knew I'd never get a round tuit, so I sold them for a tidy profit to someone who wanted to build a clock too.
I second-guess myself occasionally on that move...
