I saw a post where Stomper was selling a nice looking hand forged Nessmuk for cheap on the "custom knife for sale thread", but by the time i had a chance to purchase the piece it was already sold to some lucky fella. Well i contacted Stomper and asked if he could make me one like it. With lightening speed he had one completed and sent to me within a week. HMMMMM if he could make one this quick maybe he can make me a larger one, so i contacted him again this time same shape but longer with some minor modifications. Iwanted it to be similar to a golok but with some of the characteristics of the Nessmuk "a Gomuk". Here are some pics:

The larger one with its 9" blade is the Gomuk next to its half brother the Nessmuk. I wanted it to have the same handle material cause i will be having a custom sheath made for them to ride next to each other, i am not sure if it will be a side by side or piggyback. I think they make a great pair together, the smaller one for skinning and making fuzz sticks and the bigger one to make wood for the fire as well as other chopping requirements. What do you guys think?

I like the looks too. I am also interested in the thickness; please let us know how thick along the spine.

Andy

both are 3/16" thick the larger one has a 9" blade and the smaller is 5", i really like the feel of the large knife it is really fast in the hand. i dont think i will be getting tired anytime soon when swinging that beast.

that is a nice looking combo.... i really like stompers knives.. they all look like great users, that'll last you years....:D

Whoa, that is one monster Nessie! Looks like it will be a great chopper. You're all set with both of those with you.

That is one of the coolest big knives I've seen in a long, long time! New configuration!

Hey Reggie, glad you like the knives. I used 3/16" on those, but I also use
1/8" stock on the smaller model. That big one was the first knife I made with a blade longer than 6", it was a lot of fun.

Hopefuly i will get a chance to use it during th next hog hunt, BUt i still need to make a double sheath for it first. I dont want to be running around with two sharp knives in hand:eek:
