Nessmuk blade shape?

comoha,
I really like that willow leaf blade shape. And you should be plenty safe with that guard. I think it will make an excellent woods/camp knife. I might punch a few extra holes in the belt loop and thread some 550 cord through it ala Randall, so that you can put a safety loop over the handle in case your snap gets popped open. Look at a picture of any Randall model 15 or 18 to see what I mean.

I think the Marbles "Woodcraft" and that willow leaf are better general purpose woodcraft/bushcraft knives than the Nessmuk, which is more of a drawcut slicer. But notice that the classic Nessmuk handle is stag, even crown stag, which gives you a serious grip even without a guard.

I know! AES is too good for his own good! I made some "practice damascus" not to long ago useing the steel sandwiches in a electric motor/transformer thingamajig, they turned out terrible in the etch, hardly revealed a pattern at all becuase it was all one color!
