im really interested in the nessmuk knife design as of late. this strange design is right pretty in my opinion. anyway, lookin for somewhere to get one relatively cheap ($100-$200) and relatively fast (3 months at most). ive searched the web and forums but most makers seem to be on atleast a year wait. is the brkt wolf river available anywhere? i like the wider blade ones but am open to any.

any help is appreciated. if this doesnt pan out i might go for the old hickory conversion. -CB

Check out the ColdSteel Roachbelly or the ColdSteel Canadian Beltknife !
Great blades for the $

Try Muskrat Man, Sticshooter, Koyote, or Stomper. They can all get you a nice one fairly quickly. I have knives from all of them and nessies from everyone except Stomper and have been very impressed. Hope this helps.

I just got a very nice knife from koyote and he's real good to work with. You can get exactly what you want quickly.

Muskrat man makes the nicest looking ones IMHO, and seems to be pretty approachable, and quick.

Muskrat Man is not taking orders for fixed baldes, for the moment anyway. Too bad because he is quick and I love the Bushcraft he made me. STomper, Koyote, maybe Stephan Fowler?
No one mentioned Matt L. yet.

A little bit of expedient pruning required to maintain an established path.

That's a "Nessy Shorty" but, as you can see, doesn't live "down" to it's namesake. All the others are great too but I saw no one mentioned Matt.

EDIT: OOPS! WRONG PHOTO! Sorry, dial-up is so slow after it rains that I clicked to submit my reply and went outside.

Or if you want a manufactured one you can try Bark rivers little Nessie or the Wolf River. ALthough the WR is actually a skinner type blade it is commonly suggested for anyone looking for a nessmuk.

yeah i did a search or the wolf river but only found a couple, are they still being made? and the little nessie is cool but i would want one without bolsters. -CB

If your lucky enough to score a fiddleback on the exchange, jump all over it. His are awesome. Stomper is quick and affordable. He will make it just what shape you want, and it will be great. ML makes a great one too, email him through his website, his wait is around 1-3 months. Koster makes a freakin laser sharp scandi one too.

Brian Breeden has a model out - he's the fastest maker in the west these days. He goes by the tag name Sicily02.

yes:o sorry:o

Thought I clicked "preview" and went outside because it takes so long for pics to load. When I came back, I realized I clicked "submit" and had the wrong pic.

If anyone found a ML Nessy in that first shot, I'll give it to ya!
But you can bet your last can o' beans it wasn't in there.:o

I likes nessies.
