Am I missing something, aren't they about the same size?

I'm looking more for the blade shapes to be similar than the overall size of the knife.

My mistake. I thought the Muskrat was a bit larger than that. The reason I suggested it was because of the two equal length blades. The Pen has a short pen blade that kinda threw me.

Regardless of style or size, you really can't go wrong with Case. There are several in your price range and I'm sure you'l like whatever you decide to get.

Here's my little trio which features a Case Classics 53075. (Though you won't, unfortunately, find one of those in your stated price range.)

What you are looking for is commonly called a "Moose" or "Texas Jack" pattern. A large double ended knife built on a stockman frame with a clip blade on one end and a spear or spey on the other.
(You can also find similar in what's called an equal-end, cigar or even a sleeveboard frame.)

I'm pretty sure you can find one from one of the off-shore manufacturers in your price range but I'm not sure about any domestic version at that price (unless used from an auction site).

Scott Gossman. Let me know if you'd like to get in touch with him. His knives are the toughest damn knives I've ever used, reasonably priced, and his wait time is nill. He also has a forum in the Maker's section on BF.

Sorry for going off-topic, but I can't say enough about his knives. He is great to work with. The fix blade I trust most out of everyone I own is his "Tusker"

Thanks Campbell, I've never had any real use for a fixed blade, but I may just break down and get one in the near future.

Just email or pm the link to the interested party...much simpler... Thanks.

(Or send a "Visitor Message" and have them contact you if that's the only method available.)

For the folder, what you are looking for might be a Moose - as has been suggested - a clip and spear point

Moore Maker do a good one - but is under 4". So maybe the Great Eastern one is what you need. Not always called that - have a look on AAPK sales for an example. Also see Northwoods new Double Ended Jack

More substantial than the Muskrat - which is a flexible filleter more often than not. That said I understand that the GEC Muskrat is a sturdier animal than usual

Winchester's Moose is nice - and there was a 1902 reproduction knocking around for a while about four years ago, but I think it is discontinued.

The thing to consider is that his combination of blades appears on the Trapper pattern and elsewhere (eg GECs Big Jack). But as a double layer.

Outside your price range but well worth a look at about 85USD is the GEC No.54 Moose in Red Hangman's Bone:D Large Clip and Spear with Longpulls in carbon, 4.25"

Send me a visitor msg or e-mail if you want the link to a dealer(who is very reliable)

That is just what I've been looking for, and a lefty sheath to boot. I started sweating when I saw this pic.

JRE made the sheath. Give Scott a call. You won't be disappointed and he's great to talk to. He's started making some folders also. I'll try to post some pics of his friction folder in another thread.
