A freshly finished san mai nessmuk.
It is 20 cm long with a 9 cm long blade, which I forged of 5160 and L6. The handle is made of exotic wenge.

No, 5160 is the core, which gives the edge. And the outer layers are alternating 5160 and L6.
I have L6 material in relatively thin strips which are not thick enough to be used as the core.
