I have lots of knives. But never had a Benchmade! Lets say I wanted a fairly large-ish folder for my jeans front pocket or belt carry.

what would I want? I have lately been carrying the Buck-Strider 889 I think the model is. (?)

anyway, if I was to get a new BM; what would you suggest?

Thanks. I think I really need a Benchmade to see what the fuss is about!

Dude, Benchmade is the cat$ a$$! Get a mini-skirmish i'tll be the 1st of many I guaranty. Z

oh, thanks for that. I forgot to say that extra points for pics! :D

ooh. purty. whats the blade steels, oal, and blade length? I could always go lookemup tho!

ok. the big one is 9 plus inches. sounds about right. the Buck-strider was about 8. S30V is ok altho hard to sharpen for me. nice choice!

nice knife. I like D2 a lot. with so many BM's available how does anyone make a choice?
I know, buy a bunch right?!

and I have no preset price limit. I will spend way too much on a lot of knives this year anyway, so may as well make some of them Benchmade!

i bought my first BM just a short while ago, while it's not a large knife, I sure do love it!

what model is that? I seem to like the 690 model and the 420 resistor

Benchmade 710 , cant go wrong , if you like to walk on the wild side a Snoddy 420 , or 425 .

If you're gonna have a benchmade, you gotta have one with an axis lock:

710
552
14200
42

yep I want an axis lock for sure for a first one. I see some other model numbers with axis lock under HK and NRA naming. I like the aggressiveness of the Model BMHK34FD or FT models. I just need one to try! All I want is axis lock, around 7 or 8 inches open, good steel, and aggressive style. Shouldnt be so hard! and the Rukus is sexy to me, but is it too big to carry?

If you notice in the pic, it has a low rider clip. I've read it carries comfortably in jeans in the passaround reviews.

hmmm. I am leaning towards the 420 snoddy. The griptillians are nice too. Then there is that 710. geez. I get away with this by buying one at a time! Three might set off the wife alarm!

The semi-custom Rittergrip (actually called the Doug Ritter RSK Mk1) is a fantastic knife!

Made by Benchmade. Doug Ritter-designed S30V blade on a Griptilian handle. Available in several variations. Much more info at http://www.equipped.org/rsk_mk1.htm

damn! I couldnt get it to pull up. might set off the company filters somehow.

I'd vote for the mini-skirmish. Had a 710HS and it just wasn't right. Also handled a griptilian and I can't stand the handle materials, feel really cheap in the hand. I also always thought the 805/806 Tsek and Afck looked like good Axis locks, but they're getting hard to find. I just don't like any of the current Benchmade Axis, just my opinion.
