A little over a year ago, I was poking around on, I think it was the Emerson forum. Someone posted a comment...in their signature line was "Why didn't anyone tell me Sebenza's were so good?" (or something to that effect). I thought "Sebenza? What's a Sebenza?" So I looked it up, which led to the CRK forum. I liked the styling of the "21" and found an authorized dealer to check pricing and availability. My first reaction was "Oh, I could never spend that much on just one knife." But I still found myself quietly following the CRK forum regularly.

Soon an itch began to develop and I started thinking "Maybe I should scratch that itch, and try one." But I couldn't decide which one to buy. Before long I started liking the Mnandi too. "But I could never spend that much on such a small knife." Well, the other day I had some spare time and I looked through the thread titled "Mnandi: My latest Obsession" The next thing I knew, I had ordered an Ebony Raindrop Mnandi...and it's due to arrive any day now! How ever did that happen? I could never spend that much on just one knife again, right?

Beautiful knife choice! I've not yet tried a Mnandi, but I've thoroughly enjoyed all of my Sebenzas. I hope to see some photos of your new knife once you receive it!

I'm pretty sure that was me! But it read "Why didn't you tell me sebenzas were that good!" Or very close anyway, just recently got rid of that sig because I had a wtb that I gave up on and deleted the whole thing.

Congrats on the mnandi! I really love my LG micarta insingo, hope you all the best with your new purchase! I've never owned a mnandi but they look great

Congrats. Its hard to pass up a Mnandi. I have love the ones I have. You should post a pic in the anticipation thread. I know its hard to spend the money the first time but it gets easier ;)

Congratulations on your first CRK !!!!!
Once you have it in hand, use it a bit, you'll fully understand the price point. I would venture to say you will have more than one.
Looks like you may have evolved in your knife selections. Just saying.

Yep, Your signature line was how it started (I recognize the garage avatar).
I think CRK ought to give you a nice discount on your next purchase, your influence was the seed which sprouted them a new customer.
:)

I was one of those guys who didn't get it. I definitely didn't get the Mnandi. Now, I own four CRK knives one of which is a Mnandi. It took the longest of all my CRK's for me to comprehend its value. But it has proven itself to be the only knife that I own that I could deploy anywhere, anytime without a second thought. I have no reservations carrying any reasonably sized knife and have carried knives with blades up to 4.25. But there were places and times that they were best left in my pocket. Somebody in my office actually commented that my ZT0450 was "a big knife". There were a number of knives in my collection that I would have considered a gentleman's knife until I got my Mnandi. It is the only true Gentleman's knife in my collection. The Mnandi actually makes my Small Sebenza seem...a little aggressive.

I LOVE my sebenza 21s, but I feel the mnandi is just built better and WISH there was one larger than a small sebenza and smaller than a large sebenza. That would be the incredible.

This will be my secondary EDC. I expect it will see lots of use.

And to your last comment: You're right, living proof of evolution right here. :)

Congratulations on your first CRK! I was certainly in your shoes about a year and a half ago. Told myself that I'd never ever spend that much on any knife.. Made a mistake of ordering my first one and now I currently have 21pcs and counting...

Goodluck to your wallet and congratulations again...

Yes, I scratched that itch several years back and the inevitable happened. Several dozen CRK's later and I'm still scratching , selling occasionally and horse trading the itch at other times. I'm still itching.

Thanks for the compliments! That dark chocolate wood grain combined with steel reminiscent of a topographic map snared me

I'm starting to think it would look really nice beside a mammoth bark Mnandi with ladder damascus

Hmmm...
