New 110 Handles/Scales

...That's the stuff gooser...It is about the most obnoxious stuff you'll ever smell but it's great for "stabilizin' " wood ...and you can use what's left over and over...just add as much as ya need to cover all the wood...

Rich... So if I want a non rivet scale.... (which I like a lot) I could grind off the rivet and rocker pin heads and then pull the handle off leaving the pins.

Yup. :D

Then grind down the pins/rivets some...

No need. The three brass scale rivets will be loose; cut them down as far as possible with side cutters, and poke the rest out the inside. (With blade open, of course).

Then just cut & glue your new scales on. :D

...But you're missing 3/4 of the fun... :p

...I agree with Trax here rodent...You'd miss that "rush" you get when you look down in your hands and see all those pieces that used to be a Buck knife...LOL...Everything I know about those "pieces" I learned from Trax... :D :p

...and see all those pieces that used to be a Buck knife...

I got lots of baggies of parts left over, too...Gotta find some more junkers on eBay, so I can put some of these brand-new unused scales together with old guts & broken/ground-down blades and then send them in to Buck for $35 blade upgrades... :D

..Ya know Trax...I been lookin' down with the "bottom-feeders" to find just that and some of the worst cases of neglect and abuse are still going for more than seems reasonable...

I'm thinking about taking a day and hitting all the pawn shops...But some times those idiots want full price.

Yup. :D

I wonder if thts what happend with the knives Arksknives is talking about in his post...

But anywho... I think for a beginner I would be happy to just successfully be able to complete a no pin one. Might progress from there......Hummm,,, I have all those deer antlers out in the garage........
